Has anyone ever asked themselves why we pick up strangers for money to take them wherever they want to go. However, we are too scared to pick up a stranger walking along the street. You know the elderly man walking with a cane going to his doctors appointment in the cold. Or the woman walking down the street with four little ones in tow to get to the bus stop so she can go to work. Why are we so hesitant to lend a hand and pick those strangers up to take them wherever they need to go? Instead of just helping each other we are putting money into pockets of big companies such as Uber and Lyft. Sure its a way for some to make a living off of others but that’s not how we are suppose to live. When we simply just give to each other by lending a hand every now and then the world would be a COMPLETELY different place.
Tonight on my way home I saw an elderly woman walking down the street with a cane and trying to push a shopping cart at the same time. It was already dark out but she still caught my attention. This is what started me asking myself, why will we pick up strangers for money but not strangers to lend a helping hand??
I am challenging every one out there to pick up a stranger every now and then for free, and take them wherever they need to go. Or give a co-worker a ride home, who you know usually has to take the bus. Volunteer to take the elderly to their doctor’s appointments. I work at a nursing home, you would be surprised how many of them have no family to take them. I can guarantee the Universe will have something abundant in store for you!
